Pacific Trade Invest Europe is calling for registrations of Expressions of Interest (EOI) for exhibition at WorldFood Moscow 2019

From the 24 -27 September, the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre will host WorldFood Moscow 2019; a major exhibition serving the global food and drinks industry and connecting businesses from around the world with key food and drink buyers, including retail representatives, leading supermarket chains, wholesalers, HoReCa sector members, and food manufacturers from Moscow, Russia’s 82 regions and over 98 countries.

The host country Russia, is the ninth most populated country worldwide, with 143.9 million residents. Realistically, this means that the sheer size alone of the market makes it impossible to ignore.

Taking part as an exhibitor on the PTI Europe stand at WorldFood Moscow offers Pacific Island exporters of food and beverages a new export route to a market which exhibits significant “gaps”. Russia banned imports of key foodstuffs from the EU, US, Norway, Canada and Australia in 2014, but has struggled to fill supply gaps since then. The nation spent $27.9 billion on imported food in 2017(an 11.4% rise against 2016’s levels) from countries unaffected by the import ban, a group which includes Pacific Island countries.

A growing, increasingly aspirational and sophisticated customer and consumer profile (particularly with regard to high quality niche and boutique products) is coupled with a marked increase in consumer interest in exotic ingredients and ethnic products and cuisines which makes this market an attractive proposition.

PTI Europe’s Trade Promotion Adviser, Robyn Ekstrom will lead the Pacific exhibition team and has booked a stand to accommodate 6 Pacific Island exporters.
